Hi everyone one ! I hope you're having a lovely evening.

My partner has just got a wonderful job in thornbury bristol , and we are going to relocate. My parents live in Solihull and we live in Stafford . Is there any where bang in the middle of Bristol and Solihull you can recommend. I live in a really beautiful place at the moment and the area is the most important thing for me . I like quiet and green 😂. I wouldn't want to be more than 30/40 mins from Solihull and a hour from Bristol xxx

I love places like Stratford upon Avon - this is an option .

Tewkesbury/Cheltenham probably around halfway between I'd have thought. M5 can be horrific though!

Thornbury is well outside Bristol (about 15 miles from the city centre, with open country in between and up to a 40 minute drive or more in rush hour ). It's also just off the A38 which runs parallel with the M5 from Bristol to beyond Gloucester. If the M5 is rammed around Bristol then the A38 takes the strain.
My DH works in Thornbury and it can take him anything between 30 mins and 2 hours to do the commute back to where we live between Bristol and Bath depending on road conditions and time of day.
Halfway is about Strensham. However if you want to look closer to Bristol then I would suggest Yate as the closest town (it also has rail links which Thornbury doesn't) or up towards Cheltenham (I can't offer opinions on this)..

Seems you are giving your OH a serious daily commute just so you are not too far from your parents, is this realistic in the long term (do they WFH a lot)?
The M5 can be a nightmare at times and cutting across country is no better so would you not be better making the commute shorter and increase the journey time to your parents?
Still plenty of very attractive places within those parameters, it is a lovely part of the country.

Forgot to ask but why is this in Money Matters?

Hi there, interested in knowing what lovely part of Stafford you were living in as we may be relocating there! Thanks
