Hello all, I will be at the end of a debt management in a few months. My parents have offered to help me with a deposit of £50k towards my first home. I earn £25k and am 48 years old. What are the chances of me even getting a mortgage?

It’s possible but some mortgage companies want you to be so many months or years clear of the DMP. Talk to an independent mortgage broker and they’ll give you advice and options.

Where do you live? 50K deposit plus say 4 x your salary would equal 150K so depending on where you are looking to buy, possibly wouldn't buy you much.
