Credit card refund query

I bought something for £500 on my credit card and cleared the credit card in full from my current account. There was a fault with the item so I have received £500 back onto my card. Can I get the money put back into my current account (both credit card and current account are with the same bank) or do I have to just leave it on my credit card as a credit balance and pay for things on my card to use it up? I have a feeling that I cannot get it transferred - we are always advised to buy things on credit card to get s75 protection but it is annoying as could do with it in my bank account - thanks

You can transfer back into your bank, you might have to phone them to do it though.

you can usually call them and ask for a refund to your bank - worst case if they dont, spend it and bank the money you would have used
