Ethical conundrum

So I ordered a parcel from a high street store last week (about £50) and paid for next day delivery as wanted it for Xmas. It didn't turn up the next day so I emailed and asked for the extra delivery money to be refunded. They agreed and also said that the parcel had been lost so refunded the whole amount.

Trouble is, today the parcel turned up. Do I just accept it as a nice bonus or should I contact them and offer to resend payment? The full refund has already gone back into my account. My husband said i should pay for it and I guess he's right but....would you?

I have tried to pay when I was in this situation.
I will say that I don't try very hard, sometimes they don't have a mechanism to let you pay! So I shrugged it off if they said don't worry about it. But I did try to pay.

Of course you have to try to pay. There is a good chance they will have written it off anyway but you should let them know it arrived

I have had this. Ordered something on Black Friday in November and it still hadn’t arrived 3 weeks later. Emailed and they said it had been lost so refunded me but also said it might turn up anyway eventually. They never said I’d then have to pay as I assume they claimed the money back from courier at the point the courier company said it was lost? But as it happened the parcel turned up on Christmas Eve. I’m not going to contact and offer to pay.

Just to add, probably wrong of me to have this caveat, but I would be paying if it was a small business. However in my case it’s a huge global company so I won’t be rushing to contact them to offer to pay.

They will have refunded you knowing that the missing parcel may well turn up eventually. They've written it off, don't worry. You haven't committed fraud...
