My grandmother gave me this ring when I was a teen and said it came from 'someone's someone or other' - I really can't remember what she said!! She told me it's a ruby, but to be honest, it looks like glass, not that I would know as I've never seen a ruby up close.
Anyway, I've always meant to get this valued, so was looking closer at it this evening and saw these numbers engraved on the inside.
Can anyone work out exactly what they are - and does anyone have a clue what they mean? While I would love to think the ring is worth something, my feeling is it's most likely not?
