ISA Transfer

Has anyone ever transferred from one cash ISA to another? Did the money disappear from one account and then not appear immediately in the new one?

Can't get hold of either bank for reassurance and am freaking out slightly. It's not a small amount of money.

I've done that. The money was in limbo for longer than comfortable, but eventually reappeared. The same happens if when I withdraw from a (S&S) ISA, takes about a week to land in the bank.

Bloody hell, a week?! What about the interest in that time, do you just lose out?

This is cash ISA to fixed rate cash ISA.

Technically the guidelines allow around 15 days for transfers to be completed normally before complaints to the different parties get taken seriously

Cash ISA transfer was faster but still a couple of days. Hang on in there!

S&S ISA, you put a sell order in, then eventually the money arrives in the ISA account, then you transfer it to your bank, then it eventually clears. (I'm pretty sure this would be faster if I paid a higher management fee!)

Thanks that's reassuring. So the fact that I can't see my money anywhere at the minute shouldn't panic me (yet)?

Happy to report back that the money appeared in my new account this morning - phew!
