I started handing in sick notes into universal credit may 2022 i then got my work capability assessment through the post on 25th july it got completed and sent back that day, I then received my decision letter on the 13th September saying that I have limited capability to work and work related activities. I’m just wondering when I’ll receive my first lcwra payment and if it will get backdated if so when will it get backdated from, my assessment period with universal credit is 14th -13th

It will be backdated from the fourth full Uc assessment period after you started handing in sick notes. you should definitely get the extra element paid on your next statement and maybe some backpay depending on exact dates of handing in sick notes.

Anthony44 · 30/11/2022 20:41

I’m in the exact same boat! I believe it takes 3 months from when you first provided the sick note to universal credit. Then in the fourth month the LCWRA element should kick in

Samantha202 · 07/12/2022 01:50

It’s so confusing, I handed in first sick note in July so should have gotten first payment in November everytime I write in my journal my case manager keeps saying that I will be notified when everything has been updated

You said in your original post that you first handed in sick notes in may?If this is the case then LCWRA should have been paid maybe from Sept/ oct depending on dates. Is it definitely LCWRA you have been awarded and not LCW ? Has there been a break in sick notes at all? If you received decision letter in September that seems a very long time. have you sent a message direct to your case manager - you can do this by going to the home page and sending a message to 'payments'.

Samantha202 · 07/12/2022 15:13

i meant may not july I got my work capability letter booklet thing through in July I contacted my case manager and they said that it takes upto 3 months or something I’ve attached images and yes it is definitely LCWAR

I honestly can't think of any reason why it would not have been sorted by now. You don't have a joint claim and partner is already getting LCWRA ? The only thing I can suggest is to message under payments so it goes straight to your case manager or give them a call.

Hi Samantha - what was the date you reported your fit note on your account? Did you report it in July and was it backdated to May? Just trying to see if I can make sense of this.

Samantha202 · 07/12/2022 20:21

my first sick line got held In on 24th may then I got the booklet sent out in July then got a sent a letter a few weeks later with an appointment for my assessment date then on the 13th September I received notification on my journal with my decision saying I have limited work capability and work related activity

So if you reported your fit not on your account on the 24/5 and they have been continuous I would have expected you to receive the LCWRA element from the payment due 20/10. So it looks like you are owed 2 months arrears for 20/10 and 20/11 and you should get the LCWRA element as part of your normal payment on 20/12. Do you owe any money for any overpayments that you are aware of? If you owe money then this can be recovered from the arrears owed to you. If not I would expect the arrears to be paid as a separate payment sometime soon.

Samantha202 · 08/12/2022 09:49

My sick lines have been continuously

A LCWRA payment has been included in my statement for this month, my case manager on my universal journal said that backdated money needs to be verified and any money owed will be paid I’m confused with it all

It all sounds like it's being sorted. Any backpay will be paid separately and past statements will update.

Samantha202 · 18/12/2022 22:11

Thank you, do you know how long that will roughly take?

It depends on your assessment period dates. It is paid from the fourth full Uc assessment period after you handed in sick notes. So if your first sick note was 6th feb there is likely no back pay.

Tracey197004 · 05/06/2023 23:54

I was awarded lcrwa on 26 April but I was handing sick notes in from 11 Jan when will recieve lcrwa payment

LakieLady · 07/06/2023 14:50

There seems to be quite a backlog with processing LCWWRA decisions.

The way they work seems really random, so it's impossible to know when they will actually start paying. I've had a client get the extra money before they've even got the decision letter, but others have had to wait as long as 3 months after the decision.

Predicting when someone will actually get the money is harder than predicting what the decision will be imo.

Hi
I m providing sick notes from June 2022.I received work assessment forms September I returned them I continuous send sick notes It is now one year complete.in June I have 2 uc meeting with my work coach.I told him about my situation that I am not well. But now 2 year starts from July but I cannot get any decision yet .
Can you plz guide me about this situation??
Thanks

LakieLady · 09/07/2023 21:31

Put a note on your journal explaining that you returned the Work Capability questionnaire in September 2022 and ask if they can expedite the WC assessment and decision.

And if you don't get an answer in 4 of 5 weeks, ask again. Ten months is a very long time to wait.

If you still don't get an answer, put in a complaint. You can do this via the gov.uk website.

Ashmalik · 10/07/2023 04:08

I forget one thing to tell you that my assessment was on 25 of April .that was on the phone.
NOW 10 WEEKS. HAD GONE AFTER MY assessment .They gave me appointments 2 time in june and asked me that no further fit notes they rewuired.
I have again meeting on14 of july but they cancel it.
As you say i will add a note in my journal and lets see what happen
Thanks for your reply..

Hi I sent my sick note on 30th May 2023 , I've been awarded lcwra , my ap dates are 17th to 16th, anyone know when I will get my first payment, really confused . Thank you

trickortrickier · 02/08/2023 12:01

You should be awarded it from 17/9 so it will be in the payment you receive on 23/10.
