Confused about second COL payment

I received the first £326, but not the second half. I was on UC until the end of April then I reached pension age. As UC is paid in arrears I thought that the dates for claiming meant that I was still eligible, but now I'm on a pension I'm not.

Didn't think you could do UC and pension. Maybe go onto gov website to check.

I think you were only eligible for the second COL payment if you were receiving UC in august/September, sorry I'm not sure if the exact dates

That's what I thought Thanks

Yes second payment had its own qualifying period in september.

My letter I received says payment between 25 aug and sept or an annual award of at least £26.

I didn't think I'd get it because ds left college this year so tax credits stopped at end of august and UC carers allowance wasn't set up before beginning of October.

But it looks like I will. But for me that was a nice surprise!
