5 year fixed

We are currently on a tracker until March 2024 it’s at 3.24% but can leave with no penalty.

We have ten years left and looking at fixed rates the best rate I’ve been offered is

5 year fixed at 5.44%

Would like the certainty of a set figure but can afford some fluctuations.

Any advice very welcome

I’d wait, if I were you. If your tracker is only 0.24 above the base rate, that’s pretty good. Analysts seem to think that fixed rates will fall again soon, as higher rate rises have already been priced in. Depends if you value certainty enough to pay the higher rate - but like I say, if I were you I’d stick with the tracker for now.
