EDF App

Hi, does anyone who uses the EDF app know whether where it shows you your account balance, this takes into account what you’ve used that month and that’s what’s left. Or is it the case that you pay every month, it builds up, then they send a bill which wipes it out? It looks like we have a lot of credit but if it’s the latter then this might not be right.

I imagine the credit builds up until you give a meter reading and then the credit gets used up. That's the way my Octopus app works anyway. They can't produce a bill or give an up to date balance until they have up to date meter readings

I'm newly with edf. It seems like they let credit build up and then bill every 6 months

Its the later, shows what you have built up then bills you every 6 minths or whatever and takes that off what you've built up. Only time your balance is 'correct' is straight after a bill

After reading the edf website they only produce a bill every 6 months so your credit will build up and then get used up when the bill is produced.

Thanks for your replies, that makes sense now. I thought it looked like we were in loads of credit and it kept going up and then it occurred to me that they probably hadn’t taken anything off yet. It looks like were in an okay position but there won’t be much left by the time we get billed in a few months.

I prefer the way Octopus works. You get asked for a monthly reading and once you give them it you get an up to date balance and can see how much energy you have used.
