Hi,
Basically at the moment I am working 6am til 9am because it fits in with dh's job, he will meet me from work and then go to his job after 9am.
My employer is changing the way they do things in the mornings and it is looking like I won't be able to start so early anymore, so I don't know if I will loose my job or if I can do late nights.
I haven't offically been told a thing although other people at work have been told about changes.
I am now thinking that I must look into benefits, just so I know what I may have to do.
I haven't claimed dole money for years and have no idea if I would be entitled to anything! At the moment I get child tax credit but not working tax credit (and cb obviously).
I have been on entitled2 website, but it only tells you about tax credits.
Advise welcome!

HI mum, im not really sure 100% but I dont think you would be able claim Job seekers as your DH works, but you would be able to get Working family tax (were you not able yto get that before). YOu can only get Income support if you are single or claiming Disability or carers Allowance or Incapacity benefits. I think that all you can get WTC and CB. Lots of luck x contact citizens advice xx

Thanks summersun. Seems odd that I can't get job seekers allowance.
Last time I claimed anything like this was about 12 years ago and I was living with dh and he was working. They wouldn't give me a penny of help as I had to live on dh's money. I am guessing it would still be the same then?! I thought I may get something for so many weeks as I have paid more stamp now. Who knows with this bloody country!
I will pop to job centre plus for more info.
I could get Working family tax credit as if I don't work it will drop our income enough.

I hate anything like this, none of it is clear!

You may be able to get contribution-based JSA in your own right, but you would have had to have paid enough Class 1 contributions between April 05 and April 07. To pay enough NI you would have had to have been earning over (very approx) £7000 a year.
