Having thick moment - the figure they want from your P60 is the take-home pay figure isn't it? And when they ask you to estimate your income for the next year, they ask for Gross because you'll know that rather than struggling to work out the take-home? Aaaaaargh!

no the figure they want is taxable pay I THINK which is different to take home pay. Yes they want your gross figure for esitamtes.

CarGirl · 28/01/2008 12:46

taxable does not always equal gross pay either IYSWIM but often does, if you get SMP for example not all of that is taxable as I believe the SMA element is not taxed IYSWIM

do you have the form to fill in, what does is say as this was a year ago?

NorthernLurker · 28/01/2008 13:12

It was just ringing them with an actual figure not an estimate - dh's p60 wasn't very easy to read - but mine was and I've looked at both and worked out which figure I needed - phew!

nightmare isn't it! At least it's done now (until next year)

NorthernLurker · 28/01/2008 14:09

yes - I've rung them three times today - in a complete state the last time - thinking that I'd given them 05/06's income for me - had been looking at the P60's and then at what I thought was our award notice and spotted a discrepancy - also was still worried over blithering P60 - got myself sorted then started worrying again. Whilst talking to lovely lady I realised I had pulled out 05/06's award out of file and was in fact as mad as a hatter! Bit embarassing - but am now confident I gave her all the right stuff as I went through the p60 line by line to be sure! Bet I'm up on their wall as numpty of the month
