Hello

Does anyone know anything about direct payments. My mum receives direct payment for helping me with communication needs. I might be starting employment and wanted to know if I have to make any contributions. I rent & is a single parent in recite of UC top you once working.

The local authority will carry out a financial assessment when your circumstances change and if you need to pay a contribution towards your care costs (the direct payments is your care costs) they will let you know and start sending you a bill.

Thank you for your reply.

I was told that they don't take your income into account but if you have savings of £16000 and a own your own home then it gets taken into account.
