Hi

Anyone recommend an app where I can quickly transfer money to someone (not a shop or company) please?

My mam lives in England not near me and I want be able to quickly transfer money to a neighbour who has offered to get a taxi to pick up her prescription. Can book the taxi for them but I also want to pay them for doing this.

I have PayPal but just wondered is there an app everyone uses now to quickly transfer money to each other please?

Thanks @SheilaSazs I'll take a look

Just aware lots of people pay each other via app now even when splitting bills etc so trying to see if more popular or quicker way of going transfer. I do usually do a bank transfer but I'm bank of Ireland that isn't a quick transfer to Barclays or Santander etc and I don't want the person I'm paying to be waiting as they're helping my mum

PayPal.

I do it from my banking app. Most of my friends have starling and monzo which provide a very straightforward way of transferring/paying

I got a Starling account originally to use on holiday as there are no fees abroad, but it’s also turned out really handy for quick payments to and from friends.

Is the issue that they don’t want to give you their bank details? If they are happy to then via your. Bank mobile or computer online banking will be the easiest. But maybe you don’t have access to that? Hsbc for example permits you
to make a payment just using the person’s mobile phone number from the banking app in case that helps?

Thanks all

@Thethingswedoforlove - they'd give me their details but just wanted to see if there was something out there quicker as I'm
Bank of Ireland and transfers aren't instant

Monzo

They might be able to do a payment request in their banking app but I don't know if that's any quicker/smoother than you sending the money to them.

Is Bank of Ireland not part of the faster payments system?
