Content Insurance help!

I live at home with my parents - it's a ground floor council flat. Long story but I know my dad has content insurance however if I ever needed it, he wouldn't let me use it.

I've worked my whole life and treated myself to some expensive jewellery and bags as well as that I have a MacBook, iPad etc

It has only occurred to me now that I've got nothing to protect my things so I want to get some insurance. Any idea what I should be looking at?

For example:

Earrings = £600 (this are sentimental)
Jewellery combined = £5000
Bag 1 = £1,800
Bag 2 = £1,300
Laptop = £2,000

Do I get personal possession add on too? I'm worried if I lose my jewellery whilst out and about!

Use a comparison website for personal possession insurance. This will give you an idea of what is and is not covered. Then phone a couple of the insurance companies to check they cover your specific possessions.
