Maternity leave and holidays

I am currently on mat leave and receiving SMP. I am a contractor and employed by an umbrella company who are paying for SMP. I usually get paid my annual leave in my salary and have enquired about what happens to my holiday pay whilst on maternity. They have told me 'you do accrue holiday pay but it is already included in your SMP payment of £156'. Has anyone else experienced this? I thought the £156 was the 'standard amount'? Thank you

SMP payments do not include annual leave pay so this is incorrect. Talk to them again about this.
Your annual pay is calculated on your employed daily rate but as a contractor I would check your employment contract on this.

Thank you. I will do that

It’s definitely not included in SMP. You accrue holidays (including all usual bank holidays) as normal whilst on mat leave as an employee, but as a contractor I’d check your contract and company policies
