£66 Payment Energy Bills Support Scheme

I'm not complaining at all but I received £66 into my bank account from my electricity company. I know what it is for, obviously, but I thought it was suppose to be credited to my electricity account.

Anyone received the same?

Some companies are crediting it to the energy account and some are sending it to your bank account.

I'm with Octopus and they are reducing my direct debit by £66 and then using the £66 payment to cover the difference.

BG among others are keeping the direct debit the same but then sending the £66 to your bank account

Ah, ok, thanks for clarifying. Think I would have preferred the credit to my electricity account but beggars can't be choosers!!!

You could just pay it into your energy account? My account is in arrears so the money just goes towards that, they take the payments directly from my benefits rather than having a pay meter. In the short term no better off, although not complaining.

I'm with EDF they're paying it into the bank once dd payment is made. So am then going to pay it back to my account each month. The cynic in me thinks they may be doing this inorder to stop customers cancelling dd.

I’m with Bulb and they added the £66 to my energy account, assumed that’s what was happening with everyone!
I’d advise just paying it straight to your energy bill :)

Yep, will do.
