Remortgaging

If I complete on a (horribly expensive!) remortgage, do I need to make the first payment on the day of completion or can I choose a day that suits us within the month?

You can usually choose a date for the direct debit but be prepared for an additional payment to be made for the interest that builds up between the lender making the funds available and your first payment.

My first payment has often not gone in month one but has been higher in month two to compensate. I can live with it but you might want clarity.
