What am I entitled to?

My employer has laid me off due to lack of work as the business can't afford my wage.

It would depend on a few things. Do you now have no income at all in the household or do you have a partner who you live with as a couple? Do you have kids, rent to pay etc ? Do you have savings over 16k? If you have no income and savings are not over 16k then you can make a claim for Universal credit online asap, although if you have any final wages to be paid you need to be careful about when you apply.
