with the cost of living going up so much i’m looking for new cheap, toddler friendly meals and lunches for when home, It’s just me my partner and 3year old. No mushrooms due to allergies. All ideas welcome and appreciated as we’re bored of the same things but don’t have to much money spare

This sounds counter intuitive because involves spending money, but look for a cheap bread machine online. We make pizza dough about three times a week, plus an endless stream of flatbreads, naan bread (mostly yoghurt so protein rich), banana bread and so on.

We have a fussy 3 year old and nothing makes him happier than cutting out pizza dough shapes and putting his own cheese and stuff on. It's saved us a huge amount of £££ over time.

If eggs are in your budget make fritatas and quiches. Once you put enough cheese in I find my toddler doesn't mind the veg in it. It also uses up all the going off veg in the fridge. These also last a few days in the fridge so putting the oven on once for a few days worth of lunches might be reasonable.

I follow feed your family for £20 a week on Facebook, I have the book and get most meal ideas from their website fyf20quid.co.uk/
Honestly it's halved my shopping bill, even though I still buy a lot of snack types things.
