Scammed on FB marketplace

I've been scammed on FB marketplace. Deal was too good to be true, There were red flags and I knew it was a risk but I didn't want to miss out if it was genuine and now I'm £90 worse off. So annoyed with myself and don't want to tell anyone IRL but need to vent!!

I'd love some live and learn stories to help me feel better and save others from losing their precious £££!!

Details would be good.

I was just convinced to pay by bank transfer for an item being sent by post. I should have insisted on PayPal goods and services but I really wanted the item & the seller said they didn't have pay pal. Account selling the item has since been deleted 🤦‍♀️

They asked you for a bank transfer
Said they were going to post the item
Presumably were listing it at below market value

More red flags than the Chinese Embassy!

FB marketplace seems to be at least 80% scuzzbags..sorry you lost out :(

Contact your bank.

Top tip, never ever pay by bank transfer or electronic anything on Facebook marketplace. You have no protection. You might as well set light to your money and warm your hands over it. Cash on collection after inspection only. eBay similar but at least they have taken measures to protect both buyers and sellers recently
