Only 1 week’s CB received. Anyone else?

Morning all. Just checked my bank account and have only received £21.80 today instead of the usual £87ish. It’s due today (was last paid it 4 weeks ago exactly) so not an early payment for Bank Hol I don’t think. Anyone else?

Has your child left school recently and entered further education? If so you have to tell them or CB stops at 16 unless they're in education.

Yes, DS left school in June but I did let them know over a month ago now. Maybe it’s something to do with this then…I read that the same happened to people over the Queen’s Jubilee Bank Holiday so wondered if that might be it but that doesn’t fit entirely either dates-wise. Might have to give them a ring. Thank you

If your child has left education completely child benefit is paid until beginning of September like run on then it stops, could it be that?

You might not have told them early enough, in which case it stops on 31st August and will then be reinstated when your request has been processed. I told them when the original warning letter came out I think probably April/May time and I received the full payment this month.

If you only have 1 child and they are no longer in education then your CB will stop as of the new school year start. As most schools went back 2nd week in September CB was only awarded for that 1 week. In October you won't get anything unless you have more than 1 child?
