Makro - any must have's?

I've just opened a Makro account through work and plan to visit our local branch next week.

Any products that are a must have? Am thinking it must be more cost effective to buy bulk but need to carefully research first.

Storage at home not a problem so please let me have your suggestions!

We had a makro account for several years, before and after they were taken over by Booker. We found their special offers well priced but standard prices less so. We bought large packs of toilet rolls, catering tea bags and coffee. Their catering hardware such as knives and glasses were also good buys. However, in a past life, in the 80s, I was an account manager for a large grocery supply company, and I was responsible for the wholesale trade, including Makro. The buying power of the large supermarkets was much greater than Makro so they tended to get better prices for their purchases than Makro, so you may find the savings are not great. Don't forget you need to add VAT (20%) to the prices of most non foods, and use your phone to check prices before you buy. Having said all that, we used to like our Makro trips, and the kids liked it when we bought boxes of Freddos.

The burgers and pain au choc are great. It does make you eat more of them. I also buy cocoa, herbs, square pies and couvature chocolate.
it’s not as good as it used to be but still ok for some stuff. Just need to know your prices including the vat, and then you can get the best bits.
