Can anyone recommend the best SIM only mobile phone contract for Y6 DD? Tesco are going 30GB for £11 a month 24 x months unlimited texts and calls. She will mostly be using Wi-Fi and WhatsApp so pretty low need for GB

Go on moneysupermarket with Martin Lewis, it has lots of direct comparison on there.

Duettino · 22/08/2022 12:09

Always get more data than you think you need. Better safe than sorry.

I'm with Tesco and rate them well after just moving from o2.

Use a comparison site like money supermarket to get the best deals.

I'm on talkmobile, get unlimited texts, unlimited calls and 12gb of data a month for £8, afterinitial 12 month contract on a rolling 30 day can cancel any time

Danikm151 · 22/08/2022 13:18

voxi do some great deals on sim only and include social media within their data. Month to month rolling as well

tribpot · 22/08/2022 13:20

I'm with Tesco Mobile and have been for years, I find them really good.

They have a 2GB contract for £7.50. This is what my DS is on, although we may up the data allowance shortly now he has 5G. On 4G he couldn't get a signal inside the school so usage was v limited outside home.

bruffin · 22/08/2022 13:22

Have a look on Uswitch, there are loads of deals you cant find on the original company's website.

Giffgaff. I pay £6 per month and I never use up all the data included.

AllThatFancyPaintsAsFair · 22/08/2022 13:23

The best is the cheapest for what you need that has coverage where you need it. Don't overcomplicate it

It's a basic commodity product nowadays, cheap and cheerful and assuming you go monthly you can change whenever you find a better one

Lebara ?

This!
Just use a comparison site like Uswitch, Moneysupermarket etc.

I’m with virgin. The reason I am with them is that they are fairly competitive in terms of price and do not have roaming charges for EU countries (we have family abroad). I think Tesco is going to start charging roaming fees from January.

CheeseMaiden · 22/08/2022 13:29

I second taking a look at Money Saving Expert, I’m actually going to switch my Sim only contract this week, I can’t believe how much I am overpaying with O2!

bogoblin · 22/08/2022 13:35

Sky Mobile do 2GB, unlimited texts and calls for £6. I'm yet to manage to use mine up, mostly WiFi at home and work. The data rolls over too

BorgQueen · 22/08/2022 13:36

If you have Virgin media broadband O2 are doing double data with their Volt thingie plus you get a freebie like prime video.

abovedecknotbelow · 22/08/2022 13:38

Dts were on Giff Gaff, they had the £6 p/m goody bag, 3gb I think, it was plenty as long as they remembered to download content for long journeys etc where they couldn't use wifi

Maladicta · 22/08/2022 13:38

Tesco brought in EU roaming fees from all new contracts from the end of June 😟

Lincslady53 · 22/08/2022 16:05

I am with Smarty. I tried Giffgaff but their coverage was patchy where I live. Very easy to switch, pay by dd but can cancel at anytime, plus no roaming charges in Europe. Been very pleased with them.
