I have recently had to go on UC as my long term relationship has ended. I am in my 60's and having had my pension stolen (should have been able to claim it 5 years ago) am now unable to work due to health reasons. To cut a long story short, how do people manage to get internet access? My ex set up a package for our address with Sky, and has been paying for TV, phone and internet. He's recently told me he will no longer do this. I'll admit, I'm not great at digital stuff, but want to know how people manage as I need the internet. Do people manage everything on their phones? I'm thinking of getting a PAYG phone, but have no idea how all this works and cannot find anyone to advise me. I'm not worried about TV, I don't watch it. But I do need my laptop and internet connection and a phone. Any advice would be appreciated.

Hi op,
Sorry you find yourself in this situation, but it isn't all doom and gloom.
Your local job centre may be able to help with charities that can assist setting up Internet access or you could try your local library to access the Internet.
There will be many people who require access but don't have the means to do it, so there will be lots of places that can help with this, especially as we are now in the digital age!
Good luck and I'm sure one of those will be able to help you.
