Is Lcwra backdated??

Basically I have been sending UC fit notes since November 2020, I have a diagnosed psychiatric condition and was awarded PIP late last year. I applied for LCWRA Last October.... i wasnt even aware it existed. Paperwork submitted end of November. Assessment not carried out until July 5th this year. I have received confirmation I have been awarded LCWRA As of July 5th however no back pay is due... I will not receive anything until after the 3rd Assessment period which will be from 5th October onwards.
Is this correct?

It should be apid from the fourth Universal creidt assessment period after you started handing in sick notes so if that was in 2020 it should be backdated to four months after. However you would have needed to have handed in sick notes continuously without a break. I don't understand what you mean when you say you only applied for LCWRA in October ? Handing in sick notes starts off the process of being assessed for LCWRA. Do you mean you weren't sent the form until October 2021?

Yeah I was only sent the forms in October 2021. 12 months after supplying fit notes almost. I didn't even know the benefit existed until then. I supplied UC with letters from a senior psychiatrist stating I was unfit for work and have supplied fit notes and been forced to visit the job centre sonce the end of 2020. It was only when I notified them in my journal I had been awarded enhanced daily PIP they decided to send me this paperwork for LCWRA. Then didn't have my assessment until July this year.

Payments should be backdated to the fourth assessment period after you handed in sick notes.
