Getting a loan whilst unemployed

I've just looked into getting a loan for a car and I was suprised to be given quotes from companies despite me being unemployed.

Is there likely to be a catch or will they say no when I actually put a proper application in?

I used moneysupermarket.com and it came up with quite a decent list of companies that would accept me...

as long as you can afford the payments each month and have calculated the interest that will accrue then it will be fine.
people will lend anybody anything these days - it's up to you to make sure you can afford the payments not them
