It's £2.00 by cheque or postal order. Bank can give you the address.
There are a few companies. Experian a good one to start with

Check out the moneysavingexpert.com site - that has all the details about checking your credit files and I think it has the getting-paid-to-do-it info too.

I check on here as i find that site a bit too full of stuff and it gets confusing.

Just go to www.creditexpert.co.uk and you can do it online in minutes - you can also get your credit score for an extra £5.95.

You can sign up to get updates and I think you pay for those, I get emails every time something changes on my file, so I can go and check it is mine and not that someone else has cloned me etc...

I would order the £2 experian and equifax becasue they often hold different information:
Expereian:

www.experian.co.uk/consumer/orderPaperReport.html

Equifax:

www.econsumer.equifax.co.uk/consumer/uk/sitepage.ehtml?forward=gb_elearning_credit14

You can have a free online trial with both but you must remember to cancel before you get charged.

I wouldn't bother with credit score as every company scores you differently so not worth it IMHO

Never heard about being paid to do it.
