MLM bots, however, have it drummed into them that there is no such thing as a 'no' and that anyone turning down the amaaayzing opportunity really means 'not right now' and is logged for further approaches.
My botted ex had a large 'NRN' notebook filled with the contact details of people too polite tell her to fuck off and never come back, complete with the dates of each unsuccessful approach and that of the next planned attempt...

And what was her success rate wit the people on that list? 😬

Arbonne is awful @CleopatrasBeautifulNose.
Where I live the victims of Arbonne seem to have spent a lot of money on product which now languishes in spare rooms and garages.
That’s not unusual for an MLM but it seems particularly bad for Arbonne Huns.

Arbonne behaved very badly during the pandemic , claiming “immunity boosting” properties for some of their “wellness” products. They were told off by the FTC in the US and the last I saw the word from the most senior bots was to carry on but don’t get caught (it wasn’t an email they wanted to be shared outside Arbonne!).

The pressure on women like your friend is immense and requires them to abandon all decency and see everyone as an opportunity. That can mean badgering a person with cancer to buy wellness products, using school data (parents’ private contact details) for commercial purposes, lying about the source of income that has produced “success”, bullying and isolating downlines who aren’t on message (or spending enough each month - MLMs reward uplines on what their downlines purchase not on what they sell) - these are some of the things I have personally observed from Arbonne. Not exclusive to Arbonne as it’s common to MLM in general, but Arbonne seems to have a very cult-like feel though it’s a more subtle presentation than, say, Younique or JP. Perhaps I say that because where I live it tends to pull in people who have a bit more money, but undoubtedly the misery it causes is the same.

you are going to have to close down any Arbonne conversation straight away! If you’re invited to her house leave your wallet at home! To be honest I’ve got up and left a coffee morning at someone’s house when I’ve seen a table of product. I just say “I don’t agree with MLM and I won’t ever buy it so I’m off”. I’ve got less negative feedback by being upfront than others have got from being vague and not removing themselves from the hun’s line of sight quickly enough. Good luck!

Basically zero, but she would regularly call them at the prescribed intervals- this made up a large part of her 'working day'.
They ranged from randoms met in the street to close family members. She would pester them until told to fuck off and stop harassing them in no uncertain terms.

But of course this kept her busy ‘working her business’ and she could pretend she had important tasks to do.
this is what the MLM planners and notepads are for, to make lists etc; I’ve seen they have pages where they record when they’ve posted on social media. Keeps them busy.

I’ve not asked for a while, is she completely out of FL now?

As I've said before, it is not a subject I broach during our interactions, if only to make sure they remain civil!
I believe she is still 'her own best customer' in that she has substituted all products she can for FLP ones and that she still consumes the gloop, but I think that any sales activity is limited to 'legacy' customers. As for any attempts at recruitment, I have no idea.
The thing that made her such a prize victim in FLP is that she will throw herself 100% into something she has decided is important. Her current employment is in a sport/leisure activity that she has also totally committed herself to, so I think that has now superseded FLP as the focus of her life, even though she will probably never acknowledge (to herself, let alone anybody else) that FLP was a total waste of close to 10 years of her life (and ours).

Specsaver bot has got a part time job as a sales negotiator for an estate agent. Pretending she doesn’t need it, as forever shite is so lucrative.

Ah yes, she just loves her hobby of nosing around Rightmove so much that she has got a job doing because Forever gives her so much free time 🤔The mental gymnastics are incredible.

PhD has started a YouTube channel to go with her podcast. She's going to need to work on her thumbnails if she wants organic growth.

I'm kinda curious to see if she does bring it up and how pushy she will be. Maybe she isn't like that herself. I've never known anyone personally with quite so much 'fervour' for their work plastered all over their personal social media! It's weirdly fascinating. 😳

PHD has resgistered her 'investment advice' company in the UK as a LTD company.
I wonder what the FCA would think of a UK based LTD company providing un regulated financial advice?!

My Arbonne bot went from being the kindest, most empathetic person I knew to actively trawling for people with mental health problems. Because Arbonne had "cured" her self-esteem issues and given her purpose she wanted to "save" as many vulnerable people as she could by signing them up. I had to stop following her because her brainwashing was so quick and complete it was excruciating to observe.

She was an intelligent, popular and emotionally literate woman with her own (real but struggling) financial advice business when she joined. She also never did the hard sell of product or recruitment. It was all about achieving health and happiness rather than material wealth.

She's now 6 years in and gets to wear a sash occasionally while telling you she's happier and healthier than ever. Don't think she's richer though.

The Folly that Castle used to live in (and claimed to have bought, but actually rented), was it in Monmouthshire? I vaguely remember something about it possibly used to be on Grand Designs?
