Prepayment electricity paying double now

Hi,
question for those on pre-payment .. how much roughly you pay now after the increases ?
Before I would top up £40 that would last me about 6 weeks , now those £40 last about 20 days.. surely this is more than double , same use (actually less because I haven't used the kettle for a week now because of this) .
At least 2 pounds down everyday on the meter.. before was about 80p
wasn't the increase to be about 50% and not 100 %?

got a letter from SSE about the increases saying standing charge from 28.49p to 48.32. and standard energy from 20.33p to 28.20p.. so what I'm paying now is more than what they said

Do you have any debt to pay off?

Were you on a fix?

As you're a low user then you have been disproportionately affected by the rise in the standing standing charge, which has nearly doubled.

Look on the cost of living crisis section on Money saving expert to see if you're entitled to any extra grants available and also when the different types of help will arrive.

No, no debts. I've been at this address for years . Low user? I live on my own in a small flat ... the standing charge should be the same for everyone , low or high user.. I just don't understand why overall I'm paying double than before , for what I understand should be around 50 per cent more
Don't think I'm entitled to anything, I'm not on benefits
