Santander Personal Loan

Hello,

We have recently applied and been accepted for a personal loan with Santander, we got the code to release funds this morning and sent that through and we are waiting for the funds to be released. It says on our loan agreement by 3pm the next working day. When I put the code in and sent it through, the next page it said something like "funds will be released within 2 working days, subject to further checks" is this just a generic message as we already have the loan agreement? or will they be doing more checks?

Now, because I am anxious (all the time, about everything) and impatient I am just wondering if anyone has got a loan out with them recently and what the turn around time was for them? Has it been within the 2 working days (or by 3pm the next working day)

The reason I ask is because it is to purchase a car and I would like to be able to call up the dealership with an update tomorrow and if it's common to take a little bit longer then at least I know without flapping and I can just let them know it may take a little longer.

9/10 should be by end of next working day; it is a generic message technically, the 'further checks' are in case it gets pulled up by financial crime. Which they can even post agreement, but is unlikely assuming you're not a fraudster.

I wouldnt worry, it should be fine just remember when you make the payment to the dealership (assuming you do a faster payment) it can take til next day for that to clear but normally is immediately.

If you do do a faster payment to the dealership depending on the amount you may need to call Santander to make the payment for you, they're quite busy after lunch so I'd call after 8 but before 12 if you're able to.

Brilliant, thank you! We are definitely not fraudsters and we have accounts with them already so we should be fine. We got a text yesterday saying thank you for getting the loan with them, I don't think we should have issues even if they did do any further checks.

I have just checked the faster payment and we are within their limit to do it online/app, I didn't even think about that part! 😂 We are hoping to have the loan and pay by the morning but I will hang tight if that's not the case.

We may just be over excited about getting a new car.

Hey there. Pliz give me an update. I've applied and got credit checked but still haven't received the code. I thought I would have received the code by now. Today is the 3rd day. I'm becoming impatient and stressed out.
