£650 payment

I am currently claiming universal credit and so is my flatmate. We are not a couple or anything. We have completely seperate accounts for universal credit it's not a joint claim. We both just happen to be between jobs right now so claiming uc. Will we both get the £650 payment? I'm a bit confused as it says each household will receive 650. Do we count as one household? So will we get one payment between us?

Yes of course. It's per claim not per household. The energy payment ( £400 ) credited to electricity account would be per household .

You will only get the £650 if you had an active claim and received some UC with an assessment period up to May 25th I think.

Thank you, I thought it said per household not per claim but I might be confusing it with the energy payment. My last (temporary maternity cover contract) job ended a couple of months ago so my claim was active for the required dates.

£400 energy payment

can I just get it applied to my gas as that’s what I use the most and with having a 2 year old the winter I need heating up

also I pay my gas with a card in the meter in my garden so how does that work ?
thanks. X

The meters will just be topped up for you I think. Not sure if you can choose which it goes on though.
