What shall I do with my bonus?

Year after year I put it towards paying off the mortgage and DP matches the amount from his savings, but this year he is encouraging me to treat myself after covid etc.

I'm a little bit stumped. It's not a huge amount, it'll be c.£2k after tax, and although I would like to treat myself, I don't know and to do or what to get.

Life has been getting me down as we have been trying and failing to get pregnant for 3.5 years now, so I feel like I should put it towards an IVF fund, but that's not really treating myself, is it?

Any ideas aside from a spa day would be welcome.

Would you enjoy taking DH on holiday? Somewhere you can shag him senseless & hopefully get oregnant.or somewhere you haven't been that's a bit buzzy New York/Las Vegas/Northern Lights.

a nice piece (or 2) of jewellery.

what about putting it into a separate debit card that you can relax about buying things when you see them, like a book, lunch out with a friend, theatre tickets.

(check DH isn't just worried about not being able to match it this time)

I'd go away somewhere on a nice holiday :)

Holiday!

Oh and sending baby dust your way! ❤️

I would get the basic ivf checks paid for and then spend something on a classy day trip.
I always say my dc were by far the best things I've ever bought.

The biggest treat will be your mortgage and paying it off. I might be cynical but what has your dh bought that means he can't match your potential overpayment?

I spent a fortune on ivf and never regretted a penny of it, could you afford it if you spent your bonus on something else? It depends on how old you are but after 3.5 years trying it sounds like you should both have some basic fertility tests to begin with

im going to say holiday too. I’ve just got a promotion and thinking of treating myself to a nice bag. I’ve wanted a Gucci bag for 20yrs, since I moved to london. Even though I could have afforded it just never spent that kind of money on myself. So either going to get myself a new wardrobe ready for my new role in a completely new team / department or a Gucci bag, or both!

Both. You deserve it!
