Hi just wondering how long time wise do you need to report someone stealing your money and you have the txts to prove it ?

As theft is an indictable (either way) offence, there is no time limit. So if this has only just come to light from time ago, you can still go to the police. If it’s just happened - why would you wait?

It was my daughters ex partner he denied it at first then sent me txts admitting it saying he’s head was mashed and he had nothing for kids Xmas present but found money to shove stuff down his throat.

The police won’t care that he’s a shit dad, shit partner or an alcoholic. (?)
Focus on the theft. Call 101 for advice on next steps.

My ds2 is fine I didn’t put it on because I have friends on here ( its a long story )
