Final check mortgage

We've applied to do an equity buy in and remortgage with FD.

Credit check, payslips/bank statements in, valuation approved.

I got a message to say valuation approved and that they would be doing the final checks then sending paperwork.

What actually are the final checks?

They need to do an overall review of everything that you have provided, dot all the i's and cross all the t's before the paperwork is sent out
