Tax code when on mat leave

How do I find out what my tax code is when I'm in mat leave? Is it universal or will it be personal to me?

Tax code stays the same

GiltEdges · 09/05/2022 21:02

Your tax code wouldn't normally change while on mat leave, as your pay is still taxed the same. Aren't you still receiving payslips? Your tax code would be on there.

Not receiving payslips in the sense that I can access them through a digital portal at work...I doubt I can remember my log in details and have no access to the network. I'll ring my line manager and see what they can do.

Thank you both x

you can log into HMRC to check your tax code, it will also show the pay reported by your employer.
You need a government gateway ID but it's really simple to get set up.

@Danikm151

Yep! All sorted now, much easier than going through work. Thank you!

You should still be receiving payslips, and P60, from your employer. If you can’t access them on line they must send you paper copies.
