I’ve just done a stupid thing and overpaid a bill by £300. I used the automated payment line over the phone, I’m sure I said £255 but they have taken £555. It didn’t ask me to confirm the amount just took it after I had tapped in my card details. I called the bank to ask if they can stop the payment but they said it has already gone out, so I’m best to contact the company (can’t do that until tomorrow morning as they are shut now). Has anyone else done this and been successful in getting what they over paid back ?
