Boiler help please!

We had a combi boiler installed by British Gas in July 2004 which runs all the heating and hot water for our flat. Last year, it kept going wrong and we had something like 25 engineer call-outs running from November to January. Eventually every possible part was replaced and it started working again.

When we returned home after Xmas, DH noticed that the boiler wasn't working again as the pressure was low. He topped up the water pressure and noticed a leak so we called an engineer out. He turned up yesterday about 4 hours after the scheduled appointment and said that the flue seal had gone and the whole system would have to be shutr down until this could be replaced although he hoped to do it today otherwise there was a big risk of Co leaks . I now have 6 month DD and DH has difficulty moving when it is cold and NO CENTRAL HEATING. Is there any way you wise women can think of that I can make BG just replace the boiler instead of risking the same thing happening this year as last (and the boiler finally giving up completely when the guarantee runs out!)

Thanks for any help, sorry this is so long

Get professional advice from trading standards or take it further making a written complaint to chief exec or such like. Make a stink, wite to which magazine,Guardian home page etc. It may work if they think your a pest and it will make you feel less powerless.
