Hi

Can anyone help me. I took my maternity pay spread over 9 months. This month is my last pay and last month I can put with £100 less and this month I have came out with £250 less.

Is this correct? I'm confused I thought we get full pay for the full 9 months as I've already it out so would get what I have been getting for the last 9 months?

The only part of the pay that is averaged is occupational maternity pay. The statutory element has to be paid as it falls so this can cause it to fluctuate depending on how many weeks within the month. Also check your payslip, you may find one month you got a tax refund and the next you didn't etc.

9 months equates to 39 weeks - so it could mean that your maternity leave has ended before the final month is up, for example a week earlier so therefore you haven't had a full months wage.
