So looking for advice please.

We have received a letter to attend a telephone compliance interview and to have pay slips bank statement to hand.

I am worried about my bank statement showing what we spend money on, nothing concerns me with what they will see incoming but can they tell you what you spend money on ?

Is this in respect of benefits/DWP? If so, they'll only be interested in what money is coming in (where its from) and any savings you have, not what you're spending it on.

Yes to do with DWP ESA, thank you

Does this include other benefits ? ( child DLA, caters allowance? ) money from family for doing there shopping for them or does this mean from sources of income ?

I had the same thing last May. ESA and a DWP telephone compliance interview with no explanation as to why. I was terrified.

Mine was because I'd started a course with the OU and taken out a student loan to pay for it whilst receiving ESA. I had no idea that was supposed to be declared and that I wouldn't be eligible for ESA under those circumstances. In the end, I only managed about 8wks of the six year part time degree and dropped out. I provided all evidence requested and in December they called me to say the case was dropped as there was nothing to answer.

I won't lie, it was nerve wracking, but the lady who interviewed me and who kept in touch as the case went along, was so lovely. Very kind and understanding.

Just be honest, tell the truth, answer their questions and have evidence to back up what you're saying. You'll have to post copies of your evidence to them and be prepared for it to take several months to conclude (in my case anyway).

Thanks for the reply again not sure why but think it has to do with my husband who is in receipt of ESA but was working. We notified HMRC and wrote to DWP notifying them but didn't hear back so didn't think anything of it. But in full panic mode now after googling and realising we should have completed a specific form.

Try not to panic. Just tell them what you've written here - that you wrote to DWP to advise them. You'll probably have to provide a copy of that letter and proof of posting.

Thank you I think I have a copy of the letter but not sure about proof of posting as I misplaced my purse last year.
