Obviously I will try and phone tomorrow, but in the mean time….
I stopped claiming many years ago due to DH earning a good wage. Fast forward to now and, thanks to a thread on here, I realised that due to changes I’ve been able to claim for a couple of years and haven’t.
So I applied on line before Xmas and heard nothing. Sent an email today and just got a reply saying they’ve updated my details.
My DS is 17 and full time at college, I thought I qualified ?

Are you saying that you stopped claiming it altogether? Or were you still registered for it but just not receiving the money as your DH was a high earner? Hopefully you were still registered for it, otherwise that could have had a negative effect on your state pension?

I believe I’m registered as I got a letter asking where he was going when he left school.
I don’t understand why I’ve communicated 3 times and only had a ‘we’ve updated your details’ email when I actually want to claim the money.
I tried ringing this morning but was on hold until I had to go out.

So finally it’s sorted. I spoke to a human being and it’s resolved.
I am finally getting what I applied for.
