Help with childcare

Hi

Does anyone know salary cut off for help with childcare in terms of universal credit? We currently use tax free childcare but I wonder if we would be better applying for help.

Thank you

There is no cut off on UC as everyone's entitlement will differ depending on their circumstances. Uc is made up of different elements which are added together to make your total UC. So everyone will get a standard single or couples element, child/ childrens elements if you have kids, rent element if you rent, disabled child element if you have a disabled child. The childcare element is paid as another element. Then wages reduce this total amount and if you have kids you get a work allowance which means a proportion of your earnings are disregarded before earnings reduce the UC. So whether you would get UC would depend on all these factors. Perhaps speak to CAB for a benefit check.
