child Benefit during covid

Hi , I have 2 girls one is 10 and in school and one !8 in College.
My Eldest is Profoundly deaf and is Statemented,at the start of the academic year 2020/21 we struggled to get her on a course suitable for her ability and that can cope with a deaf student. Uk then went into Lockdown and Covid then restricted her to be able to be in further education. She was then enrolled on a Starting in Oct Royal College of Nursing coarse which had to be done online . We also got her on an Online Course for BSL and a Maths improvement coarse but child Benefit have now stopped my payments as I suspect my Ex has alleged that she was not in Education and the CMS have also stopped taking Payments from my him . I don't think that this is in Order and it has hit me financially on top of restriction as a Mobile Hairdresser during the Pandemic . as a catalogue of events caused by Covid Lockdown is there any advice out there to help.

It depends on the type of course as to whether you still get child benefit. And you have to inform the CB office that they are still in approved education. It is likely nothing to do with your ex as the same happened to my sister as she hadn't notified CB her ds had stayed on at school and her payments stopped with no input from her ex.

You will have been sent a form to confirm that she was in education after the 31st August following her 16th. Did you return that?
Obviously I can’t say definitively, but those online courses don’t sound like they count… but then you say she’s attending college.
My cousin forgot to send the form back. One call to CB sorted it.
