Statutory Maternity Pay question

StrawberryLadybird · 22/02/2022 21:25

I started maternity leave on 23rd Aug 2021. My company pay 26 weeks full pay, 13 weeks SMP and 13 weeks unpaid. So up until now I've been being paid my normal salary monthly. However by my calculations my 26 weeks full pay period ended on Sunday (20th Feb).

I thought SMP was paid weekly so I was expecting to get paid yesterday for this week as the start of my SMP period but I've had nothing.

So I'm very confused. Or will the SMP element be included in my last 'proper' monthly pay check at the end of Feb?

Thanks in advance.

My SMP was paid monthly on my normal pay date. So your feb pay check would be a bit less than normal given that it's made up of your normal earnings in addition to SMP - that's what it was for me anyway.

If they pay monthly you’ll get it in your monthly pay.
