How does universal credit work? I'm part time. Will I have to prove I can't go full time? Thanks

It depends on your situation really. If you are a single person with no kids or partner then you may be expected to look for work earning 35x nmw, although this can be reduced if for example you have health conditions which limit how many hours you can work. If you have a partner who works full time then as long as they earn over a certain amount they would be very unlikely to ask you to look for more hours. If you have kids then it's unlikely you would need to look for more hours, it does depend on the age of your kids though. In my experience unless you really are doing very few hours they don't push you too much. It does depend a lot on work coach too.

How often do you need to see a work coach please?

I am claiming New style JSA currently and I speak to my work coach every 2 weeks by phone. I have jobs lined up, it's just taking ages for the HR process to go through.
