Anyone been through a mortgage application lately?
I've just applied for a mortgage through a broker, went through all the paperwork and it was submitted to lender yesterday (hopefully in time before it’s pulled due to rate rise!) This morning I’ve been told can take 4-6 weeks for mortgage offer to come through, is this standard? Seems ages!

Depends on the Lender, but that is not un reasonable.
Rate changes has resulted in a LOT of apps in a short time frame.

HSBC queue to speak to their underwriting team is at least 90 minutes

Depends on the lender, we submitted our application on a Tuesday, valuation booked Friday morning and had the mortgage offer at 5pm the same day!
That was Halifax though who are known for being swift
