Been told our bill will go from £170 a month to £350. Definitely can’t afford this. Thought the government price gap would prevent it from increasing by more than 50% but just realised that it’s not for people on fixed amounts. Looking to change supplier atm. Anyone got any suggestions for how we can reduce bills plus a good supplier? Searching for a cheaper supplier atm.

Unfortunately, if you are on the "price cap", you are unlikely to be able to find a cheaper tariff. All fixed energy deals are far higher than the current "price cap". The only thing you can do is to make sure you are on a "standard tariff", and look at how much you can cut back on how much energy you use. Not what you wanted to hear, I know. I would strongly advise watching this short video from Martin Lewis where he explains what you need to understand.

As a last warning, I've seen devices advertised on SM that claim to be able to cut your energy use by some ridiculous amount. "Just plug it in and..." They DO NOT WORK and can even cause damage so please don't be tempted.
