Coming off my mortgage

Hi looking for anyone who has done this. I have mortgage with DP and I want to come off this mortgage. He will continue to pay and can afford on his income. We are not splitting up and I will continue to be a joint tenant.
I want to get another mortgage with my daughter to help her get her first house.
My lender has said it possible but I would have to move out of my home? Any ideas or advice
Thanks

Surely it’s not so much a question of you ‘leaving the house’ as a question of you ‘not owning the house’. I can’t imagine that the mortgage provider cares where you live. But if your husband is the only person who owes them money, then they want to be in a position where he owns enough property to secure his debt. If he only owns half the house, that might not be the case.

It’s a tax nightmare. Plus it appears you’re not married to your DP so need to ensure you protect your interest in your own home. Removing yourself from the mortgage is unlikely to be a sensible step.
