Hi all, looking for some advice also.
I’m 26 y/o living in Greenwich Borough, have no family in the UK and am in a house share (my rent is £500) a month, am single and have recently found out I am pregnant. My housemates won’t want a baby living in the house with us so I will have to look for alternative accommodation. The only thing is I won’t be able to afford it.. I am on £33000 a year so I am not sure if or how much housing benefit or support I would be entitled to. I would probably go part time which would bring my salary down to £28000 eventually but any support or advice appreciated ladies thank you x

You may be eligible to claim Universal credit once your baby is born which will include a rent element for help towards rent. Once you go back to work you would get a childcare element too. The rent element would only cover up to the local housing allowance in your area for the number of bedrooms you can claim for.
You can also claim child benefit which is just over £20 a week.

If you put the details into the entitledto website you'll see how much UC you'll be untitled to. It's probably more than you think.

Housing benefit only applies in some circumstance under retirement age, so its unlikely you'd qualify.

as pp states you can claim uc and also council tax relief through district council
