Working tax credit

Does anyone know what you can earn up to when claiming WTC?
I went on the gov site ,and it gave me a figure per month that's the same as if I was earning way less?

Do you already have a claim for child tax credits? Otherwise you cannot make a new claim for working tax credit.

I think with WTC it can be difficult to calculate as it goes off yearly income rather than monthly.
